yeahh, i was thinking the same thing. like for there to be this many 200+ scorers is insane.

in the november 2022 MSAT administration, there were a total of 6,234 registered test takers. in the december 2022 MSAT administration, there are a total of 8,893 registered test takes, with still a few days left remaining this month. with more test takers, there's bound to more applicants within the higher score ranges (199+). that fact working in tandem with an easier test administration will yield the kind of results we are seeing now. i'd also add that both december and january are the two months where you will see a lot of people retaking/utilizing their second attempt. retakes are usually higher than the initial attempt.

I didn't think there was much of a difference between the two exams other than the amount of practice I had under my belt. I've noticed that a lot of the 200+ here are from the June/July exams with me (looking at Kenny, Sacha, and Sealand specifically.) I don't think the variation alone is enough to account for the difference in scores. It's the fact that we all prepared more and it showed up the second time around.

i honestly think it's a little unfair. the majority of the 200+ scorers at this point have been from December. a large majority. We only have two times to take this thing, so why have administrations so vastly different in difficulty, especially when the variance isn't even consistent (november, october, and august were noticeably harder than this past december exam). fuck this

stop bitching. it's not that serious. these months are the retake months, and better prep materials are out there now (this site, for instance). if you've already used up your takes, sucks for you, but don't complain simply because others outscore you. I know you must feel robbed in particular, scoring 199, but get over it. this exam wasn't much easier, and I promise you, taking it this month would not have gotten you over the hump, just like you couldn't crack it last month.

Second. Attempt one was a 190. I had about 300 PRs well over 200 before my second crack at it. Get comfortable at the score range you want to be at first.

I felt pretty good about my second go. I'm coming from a 168 lol so I'm pretty happy with my results. I did a lot of studying to get into the 190s, but once I was there, I lived there.
