October 2022 MSAT Results Thread
FORMAT:
MSAT SCORE: 195
RAW SCORE 96
# INCORRECT: 1
POTENTIAL (RAW + INCORRECT): 197
I was pretty happy with my score. 195 final score (96 raw, -1). I thought I had a rocky start but really finished strong, and I think that's what took me into the 190s. This was my second attempt, and I'm so glad I was able to end on such a high note. I was coming from the high 170s, so I really had my eyes set on the mid-high 180s, and my practice average hovered around 182-187. When I read my score report, I couldn't even believe it.
My advice to those who have one more take: just breathe and trust your training. Yes, there's going to be pressure. You have 200 seconds in total to give it your best, and only 200 seconds. In those moments, what's going to help is falling back on your practice, your preparation, and your persistence. Confidence is going to be a life-saver during these exams, and the best way to build it is by routinely practicing and continuing to train, even when you don't want to. It's hard. It's annoying. In the end though, it's always worthwhile.

This was my second attempt (1st: 177), and I'm ok with it. I mean, for one, I can't take it anymore (fuck the 2 exam limit), and secondly, I feel as though I couldn't have really done any better. I wonder if this is the same for other test takers, but I imagine after a certain score, you wouldn't want to risk potentially having your scores averaged (what happens when your second attempt is lower than your first). Every time I remember that thought, I feel pretty good with my score. It's always mildly infuriating when your potential score doesn't match your actual score.

I'm happy. It's my second attempt. I honestly don't like how they give you your potential score though. I don't think it means much -- you could just use up all of your allotted time guessing on attempts and end up with a high "potential score." It also makes me feel like I didn't do the best I could have, when in actuality, I did. Just because I mistyped one or two questions does not mean I didn't reach my "potential".

I'm over the moon! I knew I could break into the 180s given my first attempt (172, -8, 180P), but I felt insanely good during the exam. When the score came back, while I was expecting a 185 or somewhere around there, I got a 193! I also knew I didn't miss any questions, and I feel like that's the best way to go if you're aiming for the 190s.

This was my second time taking the MSAT. I definitely think if you haven't, use up both attempts. I had much more confidence going into the second exam versus the first, and I feel that made a huge difference between the two scores.
First Take: 178 (88, -10, I was extremely nervous. 198P Though.)
Key takeaway: Slow down and focus on accuracy instead of speed.

happy i broke into the 190s! While I was practicing I got up to 193 and scored in the 190s a couple of times, but I wasn't sure if that was enough to ensure a 190+ on the real thing. My score report had me thinking I woke up in another universe lol. I went up 11 points (185)!

I HATE this exam. This was my last shot, and I feel like I fucking blew it. My first attempt was a 183 (83 correct, -0) and I wanted to go for the 190s. I was practicing in the high 180s and even broke into the 190s for a couple of practice exams. To have come so close but failed so decisively really takes at a shot at the ego. It also makes me less competitive as a candidate which is just more stressful in general. I really wanted the 19x branding, but I guess the universe had other things in mind.

First take! Will definitely be taking again and aiming for my potential score. I tensed up a little after maybe 3/4ths of the exam and had to slow down to compensate. Thought was would've took me out of the 180 running for sure, but I still got in with some wiggle room too.
